Receding

The waves tempt me to near closer with their white cold fingers.
Daring me to sink my toes beneath the deadly current, just so they can sweep me into the darkness of the unknown. The moonlight reflects off the hungry sea as it attracts me with its peaceful sound.
With every wave I draw nearer until I can feel the water gently wrap around my ankles.
Another wave forms and the  foamy mouths begin to speak.
They tell me to come closer and closer  as they gnash away at the sand beneath my feet.
I move in closer nearly hypnotized by the oceans bellowing voice.
On my knees I pray, bowing down to her as her arms crash over me one after the other.
I plead and beg for mercy.
But,
there is no turning back now.
I am one with her.
Slowly she drags me from the shore and her adulterated arms pull me under to rest with her forever.
